Oh, happy day! Today in Backstage’s casting roundup, an upcoming production of “Sister Act” will hold an open casting call for several principal roles. “SISTER ACT”
Union and nonunion actors are sought for a New Jersey production of Alan Menken and Glenn Slater’s “Sister Act.” The musical, based on the 1992 Whoopi Goldberg–starring film of the same name, will hold open casting calls at the start of November in both New York City and White Plains, New Jersey. A run is slated for Dec. 10–Jan. 8, 2017 at White Plains’ Performing Arts Center.
“HAND TO GOD”
A union production of the Tony-nominated play “Hand to God” is casting talent for lead and supporting roles. The dark comedy, about a possessed Christian ministry puppet, will begin rehearsals Dec. 27, with a run set for Feb. 3–Mar. 19, 2017 in Berkeley, California.

“DAYS END”
Feature film “Days End,” depicting “an ordinary family captured by a unknown military force,” is casting talent for lead, supporting, and background roles. The paid gig is set to begin shooting Apr. 30, 2017 in Kansas City, Kansas.
RECIPE VIDEOS
Talent is sought for a series of 60-second how-to videos for making cocktails. Male and females age 21–35 are sought to portray bartenders, “whipping together cocktails using a variety of ingredients.” The project will shoot Nov. 18–20 in Brooklyn, New York.
