Now Casting: Steven Spielberg-Directed ‘West Side Story’ Remake Is Seeking its Leads + 2 More Gigs

Waste no time going after today’s top gig: a lead in the upcoming Steven Spielberg remake of the classic movie musical “West Side Story.” Play Tony, Maria, Anita, or Bernardo in the upcoming film, casting now worldwide. There are also spots open in the Blue Man Group, and a major role available in a production of “The Secret Garden.”

The recently-announced “West Side Story” remake, helmed by Steven Spielberg and adapted by Tony Kushner, is now casting its lead roles. Male and female talent, aged 15–25, are sought to play the roles of Tony, Maria, Anita, and Bernardo. Talent must be able to sing, and dance experience is a huge plus. Production dates are TBD. Be a member of the Blue Man Group, the theater, ritual, comedy, rock music, and dance party group all rolled into one. Male and female talent, aged 18–45, between 5’10” and 6’2” are wanted for the group. Strong candidates will have a background in physical theater and improv. Drumming skills or musicianship are a plus. The New York City audition will take place on Feb. 2. Shows being cast are in Boston, Massachusetts, Chicago, Illinois, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Orlando, Florida. Pay begins at $1,000 per week. Apply here!

A male actor, aged 26–50, is needed as an immediate replacement for the lead role of Archibald Craven in a fully-staged version of “The Secret Garden.” Rehearsals will begin June 18 and the production runs July 20–28 at Poe Theater at Lincoln Academy in Newcastle, Maine.
