Take a break from the grind of the week with today’s New York City roundup. The short espionage film “Ghosts in the Graveyard” is seeking talent for a wide variety of roles. Plus, a short film about a woman who finally gets a minute to herself is casting lead and supporting talent and Royal Carribean is looking for principal singers and ensemble members for an on-board production of “Mamma Mia!”
“GHOSTS IN THE GRAVEYARD”
Casting is underway for “Ghosts in the Graveyard,” an espionage film about a woman who discovers a lucrative opportunity to spy on a loved one. A female actor, aged 19–40, and a male actor, aged 30–50, are sought to play the lead roles of Lyn and Adam, respectively. There are also supporting roles for talent, aged 18 and older, as well as day player roles. The film shoots through the spring in NYC. Pay is $50–$125 per day, with transportation provided for shoot dates outside of Manhattan. Apply here!
“Fresh Air,” a 10-minute short film about an elderly Asian American housewife who, after years of living in her husband’s shadow, finally has a day all to herself, is casting lead and supporting roles. An Asian female actor, aged 60–83, is sought to play the lead role of Ann, a devout Catholic and devoted housewife. There is also a role for a male actor, aged 71 or older, and a male actor, aged 28–49. There will be auditions by appointment on March 9 and 16 in NYC. Rehearsal dates are TBD and the film will shoot April 20–23 in upstate New York or western Massachusetts. Pay is $150 per day for the lead role and $100 for supporting roles. Royal Caribbean is now casting a full-length production of “Mamma Mia!” Male and female talent, aged 18–60, are sought to be principal singers and ensemble members. Cast members will also be featured in “Blue Planet,” an original production. There will be an open casting call on March 7 and auditions by appointment on March 8–9 in NYC. Rehearsals will take place in North Miami, Florida, and the production runs May 17–April 21, 2019. Professional pay will be provided. Apply here!
