NYC Now Casting: Play a Major Supporting Role in Feature Film ‘In Broad Daylight’ + 2 More Gigs

It’s starting to feel a little bit more like summer in the city, and today’s roundup will have you wishing for it to arrive sooner. Play the sexy and dangerous Monika in the upcoming feature film “In Broad Daylight,” shooting this summer. Plus, a feature about culture, art, and sex is casting leading roles, and a major musical is holding an Equity audition for its final available role.

Play a major role in “In Broad Daylight,” a feature film about a group of Chinese detectives trying to unravel the plot of an international drug ring. A Latinx or Hispanic female actor, aged 18–25, is wanted to play the supporting role of Monika, a sexy and dangerous drug addict. The film will begin shooting in late June and the shoot will last 90 days and takes place in New York City. Pay is $400 per day, with travel, meals, and hotel accommodation provided. Apply here!

Casting is currently underway for “Poets Are The Destroyers,” a feature film that follows a group of New York artists as they work to understand their culture, sex, and art. Talent, aged 21–74, is wanted for several roles in the film, including the lead role of Zuzu, a poet going through writer’s block who finds solidarity and growth through her support system of artists and caretakers. There will be a table read on May 28, followed by shooting during the first two or three weeks of June in NYC. Principal and supporting roles will be paid, rates TBD. Apply here!

Join the cast of “Renascence,” a musical based on the life and poems of Edna St. Vincent Millay. A non-White male actor, aged 30–39, is wanted to play the role of the father. Talent must be a strong actor and singer with a good falsetto. There will be an Equity Principal audition on May 21 in NYC. Rehearsals begin Sept. 4 and the production runs Oct. 7–Nov. 17 in NYC.
