NYC Now Casting: Play Politicians in the Short Film ‘Powerful People’ + 2 More Gigs

Keep warm in New York City with one of these hot acting gigs. “Powerful People,” a short film about the state of our current political system, is seeking talent for a few lead roles, as well as one day player. Plus, a comedic web commercial is looking for background actors, and a dramatic series about the War on Drugs needs leads.

Join “Powerful People”, a short film centered on the state of our current political system, money in politics, and how things actually get done. Male talent, aged 32–55, are sought for three lead roles in the film. There is also a role available for a female actor, aged 18–24, to play a hostess with an attitude. “Powerful People” rehearses the week of Feb. 11 and shoots late February or early March in NYC. “Bar Games,” a comedic web commercial for a major film company, is now casting background actors. Talent, aged 25–50, who can bring the energy of a studio audience to a small location, are sought for the production, which shoots Feb. 6 in NYC. Pay is $100 for the day. Apply here!

Casting is currently underway for “The System,” a dramatic series that intimately details the ethos, causes, and lasting effects of America’s War on Drugs. Talent, aged 16–56, are wanted for several roles in the series, including the lead role of Daniel Shays, a mixed raced teen who has gotten accustomed to being stopped by the cops. “The System” shoots on dates TBD in NYC and New Jersey area. Pay is $125 for eight hours of work and $218.72 for 12 hours of work, under the SAG New Media Agreement. Meals and transportation will be provided. Apply here!
