NYC Now Casting: 1970s-Set Feature ‘The Kitchen’ Starring Tiffany Haddish Needs Disco Dancers + 2 More Gigs

Prove you can stand the heat by getting into “The Kitchen,” a feature film now casting actors to boogie in background roles! Plus, hunt ghosts in a supernatural horror film, and a short film about a couple at the end of their relationship is casting its lead roles.

“The Kitchen,” a 1970s film set in Hell’s Kitchen and starring Tiffany Haddish, Elisabeth Moss, and Melissa McCarthy, is now casting background roles in New York City. Talent, aged 18–35, is wanted to play 1970s disco patrons. Talent must have era-appropriate hair and be comfortable working around strobe and flashing lights. There will be a mandatory fitting the week of June 13–15, followed by filming on June 26. Union actors will be paid $166 for eight hours of work, and nonunion talent will be paid $143 for 10 hours of work. Apply here!

Join the cast of “Cellar,” a supernatural horror film where a ghost hunting film crew finds themselves locked in a former murder site and the worst happens. Talent, aged 22–40, is wanted for multiple roles in the production, including the lead roles of James and Rebecca, hosts of a ghosthunting series. The film will shoot over three weekends this fall in New York and Massachusetts. Pay is TBD, with lodging, transportation, and meals provided. Apply here!

Casting is underway for “Beings Want to Be Jagged,” a short film about a couple at the end of their relationship. Two female actors, aged 20–45, are wanted to play the supporting roles of Stella and Henriette. One of the roles requires full nudity and simulated sex. There is also a lead role for a male actor, aged 25–45, also requiring full nudity and simulated sex. “Beings Want to Be Jagged” will shoot this July in Rockaway, New Jersey. Pay is $300 per day for the roles of Sam and Henriette and $100 per day for the role of Stella, with travel and meals provided for all. Apply here!
