Tommy Hollis, 47, Actor

Tommy Hollis, an actor who appeared in all media, was found dead in his New York City apartment on Thurs. Sept. 13. He was 47 years old. The cause of death was an apparent heart attack.

His Broadway credits include "Ragtime," "Seven Guitars," and "Piano Lesson." Among his many television appearances: "Law & Order," "Homicide," "New York Undercover," and a host of soap operas. In addition to his acting credits, he was also a concert performer.

Born and raised in Jacksonville Texas, Hollis graduated from the University of Houston, where he majored in theatre.

David Lawlor, 73, Manager

Longtime company manager and general manager David Lawlor died Sun. Sept. 2 at the age of 73 after a brief illness.

Lawlor worked in the entertainment field for half a century, starting as an office boy in the office of legendary producer Mike Todd. From there, he apprenticed as a company manager under Benny Stein, then went on to work as a company manager for the Shubert Organization, the Nederlanders, and Fryer and Carr. As a general manager, he worked on Broadway, often for Tony Award-nominated producer Burry Fredrik, and on Off-Broad-way productions.
