The Hollywood Foreign Press Association gathered Dec. 10 to announce the nominees for this year’s Golden Globe Awards.

Announced by actors America Ferrera, Chloë Grace Moretz, Angela Bassett, and Dennis Quaid, the nominations paid tribute to the best and brightest film and TV had to offer this past season.

In the television categories, some things remain the same, including a nod for last year’s winner Gina Rodriguez (“Jane the Virgin”) and recognition to the always talented Julia Louis-Dreyfus. However, several new performances were honored including both Tobias Menzies and Catriona Balfe (“Outlander”), Christian Slater and Rami Malek (“Mr. Robot”), Rachel Bloom (“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”), and Hulu’s breakout series “Casual.”

The HFPA showed a lot of love for Todd Haynes’ “Carol,” with nominations for both Rooney Mara and Cate Blanchett, a nod for best motion picture, and for Haynes himself. Other films recognized in the big categories were “Mad Max: Fury Road,” “The Revenant,” “Room,” and “Spotlight.”

Tune in to the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, to find out who will take home the gold!
