Welcome to Rumorville! Here you can learn about casting news that’s about to break in Hollywood. These speculations might be only rumors, but that doesn’t mean you can’t follow the trail all the way to the audition room.

“The Eternals”
Richard Madden is ready to cross from one major franchise to another. The former “Game of Thrones” star is in talks to join Marvel’s forthcoming “The Eternals,” which Angelina Jolie and Kumail Nanjiani have also reportedly recently boarded. If and when official, Madden will play Ikaris, a member of the Eternals, a human offshoot race of super-powered individuals who were created by genetic experimentation. Chloe Zhao is set to direct the film, which will be written by Matthew and Ryan Firpo. As always with Marvel projects, Sarah Finn will be the casting director.

“Fast and Furious” Charlize Theron-Led Spin-Off
Fast, furious, and… female? According to a recent Hollywood Reporter feature, among other ideas, Universal is exploring a female-fronted “Fast & Furious” spinoff built around Charlize Theron’s Cipher from 2017’s “The Fate of the Furious.” The studio is looking to “Avengers-ize” the franchise as much as possible, and certainly seeing Marvel’s recent approach with films like “Captain Marvel” and the forthcoming Black Widow standalone, it seems like that has helped influence the decision to let the ladies lead. Another “Fast & Furious” spinoff is soon set to premiere: “Hobbs & Shaw,” starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham, which will hit theaters on Aug. 2. That spinoff used Lucy Bevan and Betty Mae’s Marisol Roncali and Mary Vernieu as its CDs, so a potential new spinoff could see more of the same.

“Cliffhanger” Reboot
The 1993 classic “Cliffhanger” is the latest film to get a reboot. Ana Lily Amirpour will direct a female-led reboot of the survival thriller, which originally starred Sylvester Stallone. “Creed II” scribe Sascha Penn is writing the script, and the project is currently searching for its star and ensemble cast. However, there is one actor already rumored to have joined the cast: “Aquaman” himself Jason Momoa, who is reportedly in talks for a role. Rocket Science and Neal Moritz’s Original Film (which produces the “Fast and Furious” franchise) will produce the reboot. Keep an eye out for casting notices to join this adrenaline-filled film!
