Welcome to Rumorville! Here you can learn about casting news that’s about to break in Hollywood. These speculations might be only rumors, but that doesn’t mean you can’t follow the trail all the way to the audition room.

“Game of Thrones” Targaryen Prequel
The Game of Thrones never really ends. According to Deadline, HBO is reportedly close to giving a pilot order to another “Game of Thrones” prequel from George R. R. Martin that will be set 300 years before the events of the “Game of Thrones” and will follow House Targaryen. This would be the third “Game of Thrones” spinoff or prequel show in development at HBO, including the still-untitled prequel starring Naomi Watts that shot this summer. (The other is still in script stage and hasn’t been announced publicly.) The Targaryen series would reportedly be based on Martin’s Fire & Blood, which begins with Aegon the Conqueror recounting generations of Targaryens who fought to hold the throne, all the way up to the civil war, which will reportedly be a significant part of the TV adaptation if it goes forward. If it does, prequel casting director Lucinda Syson or original series casting director Nina Gold could bring talent on board.

“Hawkeye” Series
First reported by Variety, Hailee Steinfeld may be the next to join the extended Marvel Universe. The actor has reportedly been offered a lead role in the upcoming “Hawkeye” series at Disney+. The limited series will be centered on Jeremy Renner’s eponymous Hawkeye with Steinfeld, should she join the series, playing Kate Bishop, a Marvel Comics character who took up the Hawkeye mantle after Clint Barton. This would mark Steinfeld’s second TV starring role, following her upcoming lead role in the Apple series “Dickinson.” “Hawkeye” is scheduled to be released in 2021. Marvel regular Sarah Finn is the series casting director.

“Tank Girl”
Margot Robbie could be reuniting with a former collaborator for a film of her own. The actor has reportedly tapped Miles Joris-Peyrafitte to direct a “Tank Girl” movie that Robbie will produce via her LuckyChap Entertainment banner. According to “Tank Girl” creator Alan Martin, LuckyChap recently optioned the rights to the cult favorite 1980s comic. The project is still in early development and no official announcements have been made about it being on the road to the big screen, but Robbie intends to star as well as produce, once she gets a script to read. Joris-Peyrafitte and Robbie most recently worked together on Dreamland, in which he directed and she starred in earlier this year. If they get the same team back together, Jodi Angstreich and Laura Rosenthal will cast.
