Sacha Baron Cohen Is In Talks to Join Apple TV’s “Disclaimer”
According to Deadline, Sacha Baron Cohen may have a new gig soon. The “Borat” star is currently in talks to join Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline in the upcoming Apple TV+ series Disclaimer.” Based on the Renee Knight novel of the same name, “Disclaimer” will be written, directed, and executive produced by Alfonso Cuarón (“Roma,” “Gravity”), the first of his overall deal he signed with the streamer back in 2019. This also marks the first time Cuarón has written and directed all the episodes of an original series. The new show will follow Catherine Ravenscroft (played by Blanchett), “a successful and respected television documentary journalist whose work has been built on revealing the concealed transgressions of long-respected institutions. When an intriguing novel written by a widower (played by Kline) appears on her bedside table, she is horrified to realize she is a key character in a story that she had hoped was long buried in the past, one that reveals her darkest secret.” At this time, Baron Cohen’s role is being kept a secret. Kodi Smit-McPhee will also star in the project, which is still in the script stage of development. A timeline, including a release date, has yet to be announced
