A new adaptation of “A Christmas Carol” by Jefferson Mays is making its world premiere in Los Angeles this fall. The original take on the Charles Dickens classic brings a fresh perspective and theatrical experience to the much loved tale.
The production is currently casting a double for Jefferson Mays. This is not an understudy role, although it is a non-speaking part. The show is looking to cast an Equity male actor around 50 years old, 5’10” tall, who weighs 165 pounds, with a regular jacket size near or around 38. Actors should have good movement skills, as they will assist in illusions and play a physical double to Jefferson Mays.
Rehearsals begin Oct. 20, and previews start Oct. 30. The show runs in Los Angeles from Nov. 7 to Dec. 2, with a possible extension to Dec. 9. Actors will be signed to an Equity LORT B Non-Rep contract that pays a minimum of $914 per week.
