Sheila K. Adams, Actor and Playwright, Dies at 59

Actor and playwright Sheila K. Adams died on Sunday in a Manhattan hospital. The cause of death was leukemia. She was 59 years old.

After growing up in Nebraska and Southern California, Adams got her first big break when she was cast as Fredrika in the original Broadway production of "A Little Night Music."

Her long career in theater and film included playing Milly Owens in William Inge's play "Summer Brave." Adams also published several plays, such as "Dog Story" and "Force Majeure."
