This year “Shrek” is celebrating its 20th anniversary! It’s hard to believe it’s been two decades since we met the ogre, Fiona, Donkey, and other memorable characters of this unique DreamWorks fairy tale world. To celebrate the occasion, find an animated or fairy tale project you can be a part of with these gigs seeking talent!

“SHREK THE MUSICAL”
Soulful Productions is casting lead and supporting roles for their production of “Shrek The Musical”. Talent, aged 14–45, with singing and dancing ability, is wanted. An assistant director, aged 18–40, is also wanted. Rehearsals will take place at the end of May with performances in spring 2022 in London depending on COVID-19 restrictions. This project is unpaid. “THE GRIMM SISTERS”
Scratchwork Theatre Company is seeking talent for the outdoor play “The Grimm Sisters.” A non-binary, trans female, or female actor, aged 25–35, who can play the acoustic guitar, can sing, and has improv skills, is wanted to play the lead role of Brunhilda Grimm. Rehearsals begin on June 1 with tentative performances scheduled for June 17–18, July 23, Aug. 7, 12–15, 21, and 28–29 in Shortlands, England. “ADRIAN THE ALPACA AND JUSTIN”
An animated series, “Adrian The Alpaca and Justin,” is casting its pilot. Voiceover actors, aged 18 and older, are wanted. Talent will work remotely and must at least have access to a mobile device to download a recording app. Pay is $10–$20 depending on the role. Apply here!

“THE GLASSBLOWER’S DAUGHTER: AN AMERICAN FAIRYTALE”
This original musical wants talent, aged 9–55, for lead, supporting, background, and ensembles roles. Rehearsals will take place from Sept. 7–Oct. 17 in Boston with tech week and performances running from Oct. 18–24 at the Regent Theatre in Arlington, MA. Pay is $100–$200. Apply here!

“Jade In The Gardens,” a new animated series, is seeking an actor to play a major character for a pitch. A female actor, aged 18–40, with a standard American accent is wanted. This project records via Zoom and is unpaid. Apply here!

TORTOISE AND HARE PODCAST
London Film School Masters in International Film Business is casting a re-imagined podcast version of the “Tortoise and Hare” fable. Male and female talent, aged 18 and older, who can sing is wanted. The podcast will be recorded remotely. Pay is $20. Apply here!

ANIMATED STUDENT SERIES VOICEOVER
An animated student series is looking for voiceover talent, aged 17 and older. Talent will meet and record remotely with the showrunner and director for about one hour of work. This project is unpaid. Apply here!
