ABC's Mandy Moore comedy pilot has cast the actress' parents.

Stockard Channing and Kurt Fuller have joined the untitled project, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The comedy explores the inherent conflict that exists between the families we grow up in and the ones we make as adults. It will be told through the perspective of Annie (Moore) and Ben, a young newlywed couple who get the opportunity of a lifetime to run a hip, new restaurant in Annie's hometown, bringing her closer to her needy and high-maintenance family.

Channing will play Barbara, the warm, devoted and sometimes overbearing and manipulative matriarch. Fuller will play her husband Steve, who is described as a good-natured guy and dad who's used to taking a back seat to his take-charge wife.

Bob Fisher and Stacy Traub will write and executive produce the pilot alongside Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements and Shawn Levy, who will direct the 20th Television single-camera pilot.

Channing and Fuller join the previously cast Erinn Hayes and Majandra Delfino in the project.
Channing's most recent small-screen work came last year as part of NBC's failed pilot “17th Precinct.” The onetime “Grease” star is repped by Paradigm and Hofflund/Polone.

“Midnight in Paris” co-star Fuller, repped by APA and Gold Coast Management, recurs on USA Network's “Psych.” His credits include “Better With You” as well as arcs on “Desperate Housewives” and episodes of “Glee” and “Ugly Betty.”
