Extra, extra! Nearly a year and a half after it was announced NBC’s genre-changing sitcom “The Office” would be getting a spinoff series, “The Paper” hits the stands (rather, Peacock) on Sept. 4. The new mockumentary comedy from Greg Daniels and Michael Koman is a follow-up set in the same universe as “The Office,” with the original documentary crew focusing its lense on a historic but declining Midwestern newspaper. “Asocial”
Join the cast of “Asocial,” a web series following an asocial comedy writer who stumbles through the absurdities of everyday life. “The Rocin Talent Show”
Good on Ya Mate Productions is now seeking talent for “The Rocin Talent Show,” a scripted comedy set in the fictional town of Rocin, Texas, where the local football coaches are dealing with life in the 1970s while trying to win the local Christmas talent show. Texas-based actors, aged 20–70, are wanted for lead and supporting roles in the series. Auditions will be held by appointment on Sept. 10 in Orchard, Texas, followed by rehearsals and filming. Pay is $100–$200 per day for up to six days of work with meals provided.

“I Think I'm A Satanist”
Casting is underway for “I Think I’m A Satanist,” a comedy web series that follows a group of misunderstood suburban Satanists as they attempt to grow their local chapter and improve their public image. Four New York City-based actors, aged 24–65, are wanted to play leads. Additionally, production is hiring an experienced director of photography. Filming will take place this fall in NYC. Pay is $50–$250 per day for two days of work.

“The Rider” TV Pilot
Join the pilot for “The Rider,” a workplace comedy that takes place backstage at a NYC comedy club. Two Asian male actors, aged 40 or older, are wanted for day player roles. Production is also currently hiring a hair and makeup artist for touch-ups. Filming will take place over three days in Manhattan, dates TBD. Pay is $300 for the crew. Currently, actors will be paid a deferred profit share with meals and a travel stipend provided, but a SAG contract is pending.

“This Joke’s On You”
Stoop Films & Production is casting actors for “This Joke’s On You,” a bold, heartwarming, and hilarious romantic comedy that explores modern relationships, social media fame, and the consequences of turning love into content as a rising stand-up comic, Tammi Carter, roasts her boyfriend in a viral bit that causes her career to skyrocket but their relationship to unravel. New York City-based actors, aged 12–75, are wanted for several lead and supporting roles in the film, including Tammi. Strong comedic timing, including a stand-up or improv background, is required for talent playing Tammi and multiple other roles. Production is also hiring multiple crew positions, including a sound operator and editor, and is also seeking content creators for digital hype and more. Talent will work in Brooklyn and Queens from October 13 to 24. Pay is $250 per day with meals, credit, and footage provided, plus future appearance rates TBD.
