Rigoletto
Specialist circus and aerialists company Wired Aerial Theatre are casting for four female and six male stunt performers to join a production of Rigoletto in Austria. Performed at the internationally-renowned Bregenz Festival, the big-budget opera on the lake is the headline production, this year directed and designed by Philipp Stölzl and performed in front of 7,000 people each night.

Wired say this “is an exciting opportunity for specialist performers who would be excited to perform outdoors for two consecutive summer seasons.” The roles include character work, ground-based physical performance and “incredible costumes.” The roles would suit ambitious and inventive performers “who enjoy creating, being physical and get a buzz from hard work.” All performers must be over 18. All ethnicities are welcome.

Here are the breakdowns:

Female Physical Theatre Performers: one or two will need experience in harness, clowning and some awareness of circus. All four performers will need to be trained in harness and full-body costume work.

Male Stunt Performers: skills include harness, ladder balancing, slackline, unicycle, confidence in water, fire skills and juggling.

Female Stunt Performers: skills include advanced harness and experience of working at heights of up to 60 metres, aerial dance, ladder balancing skills, unicycle, juggling, physical theatre and gymnastics.

Rigoletto performs summer 2019 in Bregenz, Austria and roles are paid £25,000–£30,000. Auditions are by appointment-only in Merseyside. Dates are 5–7 December.
