“Man Up”

Male dancers and men with experience behind the mic: this is an opportunity for you.

Stoke-on-Trent–based company RESTOKE are creating a performance piece called “Man Up” exploring masculinity and mental health. Aiming to engage more men in performance and discussion, they are looking for a leading male with a light and fresh voice from the spoken word scene to collaboratively create the show and lead workshops in Stoke, U.K. They’re also looking for a male dancer to do the same.

You’ll need to be in or within traveling distance to Stoke-on-Trent, U.K. for this one. It’s also a project that demands someone dedicated, sensitive and able to lead and respond to community participation projects. Spoken word artists, check out the full details, including pay and apply here.

For dancers, you’ll need a high level of training in dance or physical theater and at least five years experience of working with community participants. Check out the full details on the RESTOKE website here.

Pay is £3,650 or £4,500 based on the role, with travel and other expenses included. Applications close on Nov. 10.

For those of you based in Stoke-on-Trent and wanting to get involved in a different way, you can always get in touch with RESTOKE at info@restoke.org.uk to discuss the project.
