U.K. Now Casting: ‘The Scar’ Lead and Supporting Roles + 3 More Paying Gigs

Get the opportunity to revisit “an extraordinary conspiracy with global implications” in today’s casting roundup! “The Scar,” a short film centered on a car crash in Turkey is looking for actors for lead roles and revolutionaries. There are also opportunities to act on stage in “Jungle Book” or “The Ramshackle House,” as well as casting for several upcoming big name projects from 2020 Casting!

“The Scar,” a short film based on real events revisiting “an extraordinary conspiracy with global implications,” is casting principal and supporting roles. Male and female actors aged 26–50 are needed to fill four named roles. There are also several roles available for female talent aged 18 and older to play revolutionary women from different areas of the world. The production shoots Aug. 7–11 and Aug. 13–15 in London, and Aug. 17–18 on location. Pay is £200 per shoot date.

The innovative play “The Ramshackle House,” in which the audience “will watch the three performers build, create, invent, and reinvent, dealing with instability in a forever-changing world,” is seeking performers for several supporting roles. Male and female talent aged 18 and older with a high level skill in aerial skills, floor acrobatics, juggling, and similar areas of expertise are needed for the production. Rehearsal runs from August to October in Warsall, West Midlands. The production begins Oct. 12 with tour dates in Warsall, Kent, and London through December. Pay is above Equity minimum.

Join the musicals “Little Red and the Big Bad Wolf” and “Jungle Book” this winter! Unity Theatre and Action Transport Theatre are looking for several actors to join the shows throughout the Christmas season. Male and female talent aged 18 and older are needed to fill supporting roles, which require “strong musical, devising, and comic abilities.” Ability to play a musical instrument and experience of performing for family audiences preferred but not required. "Little Red and the Big Bad Wolf" runs Oct. 2–Dec. 31 and then six touring weeks at Z-Arts Manchester and the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal. “Jungle Book” runs Dec. 1–Jan. 6, 2018, at Unity Theatre in Liverpool and Jan. 9–14 at Whitby Hall in Ellesmere Port. Pay is £458 per week for both productions, plus R&D days.

2020 Casting, knowing for working on several major films, such as “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation” and “The Theory of Everything,” is looking for a wide variety of male and female talent throughout Scotland. Actors aged 16 and older are needed to join several upcoming productions. Work is ongoing throughout 2017 and beyond (dates TBD). Pay will vary depending on each production.
