VO Acting: How do I start?
“Hi everyone! I’m a blooming actress as of this year. As much as I enjoy film and TV acting, I would really love to get into voiceover acting. How do I start? I know that it’s pretty standard knowledge that I’ll need good audio equipment. But if I have no VO experience, I’m wondering how the heck I audition and submit for roles with no previous experience?
“I would love some insight! Thanks in advance!” —MikaylaKane
Question about communication with agents/managers:
“I’m sure that different agents and managers will have different policies, but I was wondering: If there is a role or a production that you want to be a part of that is in pre-production and you don’t know if they are casting yet, should you ask your agent/manager to keep an eye out for it or just leave it and let them do their job? Is it a waste of your time and their time to mention something like this?
“Also, anyone know if the breakdowns that agents and managers have access to are the same, i.e. do they all include big auditions for The CW or Hulu? Thanks!” —Meowforum
Headshot question:
“Hi Team,
“I am new to L.A. (one month in) and pursuing an acting career. First step is a headshot. Does anyone have anyone or a company they can recommend? Student photographers are great as well, due to budget. Thanks.” —Hammer
