From an overseas opportunity with Disneyland to a horror film shooting out of upstate New York, this week’s casting notices offer a variety of opportunities for Backstage actors. See which you want to audition for next!

HONG KONG DISNEYLAND
Vocalists are being cast to play in the musical versions of “Mickey and the Wondrous Book,” “The Welcome Wagon Show,” and “Festival of the Lion King.” Seven women and two men will be playing various roles including Rapunzel, Simba, Nala, and Storyteller. These are six-month, Hong Kong–based contracts, which begin in the fall. Roundtrip airfare, housing with paid utilities, shuttle service to and from work, medical and dental coverage, a daily living allowance, and paid vacation and sick days will all be included in the hiring package. Creatives will be holding auditions in North Hollywood before May 10.

“TEREZIN”
Four lead and two supporting actors are needed for this play about two Jewish children who must endure a concentration camp. The production will be presented in three parts in early 2017 before moving on to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the U.K. Leading roles will be compensated $1,000 with $500 for supporting actors.

“A GRAVE MATTER”
This feature-length horror film being shot out of Buffalo, New York, is seeking two actors, one male and one female, to play in a story that invokes “Christine,” the 1983 John Carpenter film based on the Stephen King novel about a possessed car, and the John Irvine–directed “Ghost Story.” The roles pay $175 per day, plus $75 per diem. Gregory Lamberson, creator of “Slime City” and “Dry Bones” will direct.

“AS THE BOYS GO”
The supporting roles of Steve and Nick need to be filled for this SVA thesis film. The day player roles of Erin and Julie are also being cast out of New York City. Open casting calls will take place April 24, 24, and 29, and are open to talent from Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and Baltimore as well.

OPEN CALL FOR “RENT” 20TH ANNIVERSARY NONUNION TOUR
Five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred minutes is about how long you’ll spend on this touring production of the musical classic should you be cast! With rehearsals beginning Aug. 19 and a closing date of June 25, 2017, the actors cast in the roles of Roger, Mark, Mimi, and Collins, as well as the ensemble members and swings will be spending a good chunk of 2016 and 2017 on the road. The open call is being lead by Joy Dewing casting and is set for April 25 in New York City.

“FRAMED”
A scripted series centered on a wrongly accused ex-convict is seeking two female actors between 22 and 30 to play Sandy and Ebony. The project will shoot during the last week in April out of Los Angeles, so submit your headshot, résumé, and reel before the April 30 expiration date!
