What to bring on tour?
“Preparing for tour and I’m curious if anyone had input on what they wish they had brought, hadn’t brought, and any essentials that are a must for long contracts. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!” —Someday
Joining SAG?
“I am stuck between applying into a payment plan with SAG and waiting until I land jobs myself. I recently started my acting career and I am SAG-Eligible but i don’t have proper headshots or monologues. I am interested in doing background jobs for the year until I complete my training. I am curious if investing in SAG before getting proper materials is a good idea. It is all the money I have at the moment and I want to make sure it is the right move. I do not want to spend it all on a photoshoot then not land a job but I do not want to spend it all on a union and not land a job, either. I do not have friends who are in SAG to give me advice and it would be great if someone could share their journey of joining SAG or give me their opinion.
“Thank you!” —Success
Continued training after college?
“I just graduated from a college BFA acting program and am now settled and a full-time NYC resident. My first two years of college, I mostly did theater and the last two I focused more on film training and acting in student films. What recommendations are there for continued training, workshops, seminars, etc., as I start auditioning?” —mdobles
