Hey, Atlanta actors! Stay in the loop and be sure to check back every week for projects currently in production in the place you call home. Here’s the 411 on what’s filming big and small in your city.
“Lovecraft Country”
Head to “Lovecraft Country” this month—or, maybe, just head to Georgia. The upcoming HBO series, created by Misha Green and Jordan Peele, has been busy filming lately around the state, especially Newnan where production has taken place since early last month. Most recently, crews have been spotted at Newnan High School and in Covington along Flat Shoals Road. The show is based on the novel of the same name by Matt Ruff and follows Atticus Black, a man who travels across America in the 1950s, encountering racism and monsters of a different kind along the way. Jonathan Majors leads the series as Atticus, starring alongside Michael K. Williams, Courtney B. Vance, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Abbey Lee, and others. “Lovecraft” has been very actively seeking background actors on Backstage lately, so be sure to keep an eye on the Atlanta area’s TV casting calls to apply for the next opportunity! Kim Coleman is the series casting director.
