Yahoo has turned to established producers for two new comedy series but is staying mum about its slate of performers.

The technology company announced this week that "Bridesmaids" executive producer Paul Feig and "One Tree Hill” producer Mike Tollin would be responsible for its first scripted comedy series.

Feig is set to produce "Other Space," a comedy about an inter-galactic adventure set in the early 22nd century where a "spaceship on a routine collection mission stumbles into the greatest discovery in history: an alternate universe."

Meanwhile, Tollin’s series, "Sin City Saints," follows Jake Tullus, a Silicon Valley tycoon who buys a pro basketball team "but quickly finds he's in over his head."

No casting details were released.

Still, Marissa Mayer, Yahoo’s CEO, said the series would have production values similar to television. "Users expect online content to be as good as, if not better than, TV," she said Monday at the company’s annual presentation of new digital offerings to advertisers in New York.

Both series received orders for eight half-hour episodes. In addition to its travel and informational programming, the company’s 30-minute comedy series will air on a Yahoo Screen starting next year and also be viewable on the Yahoo Screen mobile app or on Apple TV and Roku.
