All that energy, all those long hours—there’s no way you can compete with the life of an actor! Sometimes performers are just plain…better, which can make being friends with actors pretty hard. Here are 10 reasons it’s the worst, ever:

1. You can’t complain about having to work late, because they worked a close shift until 1 a.m. and then were up at 5 a.m. for an audition. Suck it up, Buttercup.

2. You can’t really let yourself go. Oh, you did the elliptical machine today? Your actor friend went to the gym before dance class after teaching a yoga class as a side gig.

3. You can’t compete at karaoke. Seriously, don’t even bother trying to follow them. This is how Mama pays the bills!

4. You can’t keep up at the bar. No joke, most 110-pound chorus girls will drink you right the hell under the table.

5. You can’t complain about being broke. Try getting a $100k theater degree to make $700/week in one of the most expensive places on Earth, then we’ll talk.

6. You can’t be the best dancer at the wedding. If an actor is in the wedding party, every else might as well sit down, because six months of Hip Hop at Broadway Dance Center is about to get unleashed.

7. You can’t be the good looking friend. Actors know lots of other actors. Part of an actor’s job is to always look their best. #5AMFierce #YasKween

8. You can’t brag about being healthy. You eat healthy sometimes to feel good about yourself. Actors eat healthy so they don’t collapse mid-way through their 16-hour day.

9. You never get to have the best stories. Joan from accounting got drunk at the Christmas party? Adorable. Did I ever tell you about the time my roommate did a bunch of drugs with the most famous musical playwright in the world?

10. It is exhausting watching someone follow their dream….
