Writer, director, and star Warren Beatty shines in the final trailer for “Rules Don’t Apply,” the Oscar winner’s first film in 15 years and his return to big-screen, behind-the-camera work after 1998’s “Bulworth.”
Telling a fictionalized Old Hollywood love story between two of entrepreneur and film tycoon Howard Hughes’ employees, Beatty stars as Hughes through his later years, showcasing his infamous eccentricity and reclusiveness without caricaturizing the man’s tender humanity.
Lily Collins stars as a young starlet contracted under Hughes, Marla Mabrey, and Alden Ehrenreich plays one of Hughes’ drivers and Mabrey’s forsaken love interest, Frank Forbes. Rounding out the impressive ensemble cast are supporting players Matthew Broderick, Annette Bening, Taissa Farmiga, Ed Harris, Megan Hilty, Alec Baldwin, Martin Sheen, Oliver Platt, and Steve Coogan.
“Rules Don’t Apply” makes its world premiere Nov. 10 at the annual AFI Fest, and it will hit theaters nationwide Nov. 23. Watch the trailer below.
