Director Sean Baker follows up his acclaimed “Tangerine” with “The Florida Project.” The heart-tugger stars Willem Dafoe and is told through the lens of a 6-year-old (Brooklynn Kimberly Prince) living with her mother (Bria Vinaite) in an Orlando hotel for extended-stay guests.
The poignant feature comes courtesy of distributor A24, on the heels of their 2017 best picture winner, “Moonlight.” With a prime Oct. 6 wide release, “The Florida Project” certainly looks poised to carry that prestige torch.
