Casting Changes

On Oct. 26, Korean-American actress, Margaret Ann Gates, became the first Asian actress ever to play the role of Ellen in the Broadway production of "Miss Saigon." King, whose hit recordings virtually defined the '60s, will be singing his Leiber and Stoller hit, "Stand By Me." The song, which debuted in 1961, immediately shot to No. 1 on the charts. Recently, Victor Trent Cook and B.J. Crosby returned to the cast of "Smokey Joe's," reuniting eight of the 1995 musical's nine original cast members.
