CASTING ALERT: Feature Films + Broadway Shows Are Filling Roles in NYC

This edition of our New York casting call roundup includes amazing finds for screen and stage performers. Get a role in a feature film, dance your heart out in a musical, or have a chance at a lead role in another. And don’t miss the opportunity to appear in the new Troma film “Tempest,” based on the bard’s last solo play. There’s lots of auditions for performers of all skill sets in New York City this season!

“WOMAN IN THE WINDOW”
The 20th Century Fox feature film “Woman in the Window,” based on the bestselling novel of the same name and starring Amy Adams, Julianne Moore, and more, is filming soon in NYC. The production is seeking two photo doubles for actors in the film. Caucasian female talent, aged 18–45, with red hair, and caucasian male talent, aged 18–37, with blonde or dirty blonde hair is wanted for the roles. The scenes will shoot from Sept. 4–7 in NYC. “INK”
“Ink,” a play set in 1969 London, follows a young Rupert Murdoch who purchases The Sun, a struggling newspaper, with the goal of making it a must-read. The production is holding an Equity principal audition for all roles, including Rupert Murdoch, for male talent, aged 30–39, and Larry Lamb, for male talent, aged 40–49. Many other roles are also available for male and female talent, aged 20–69. Auditions will take place in NYC on Sept. 5. Rehearsals begin on Feb. 26, 2019 and the show runs from April 2–July 21. Pay will be $1,520 per week under an Equity Non-Rep LORT A+ Agreement. Apply here!

“ANASTASIA” DANCERS
“Anastasia” on Broadway is holding an Equity Chorus Call for possible replacement dancers. The production is seeking male and female talent, aged 18 and older. Candidates should be fit dancers with strong ballet technique and partnering ability. Female dancers must be proficient in pointe work. Talent must also have powerful vocals and excellent musicianship. Those cast will potentially understudy both lead and ensemble roles. The audition will be held on Sept. 6 in NYC for the currently-running Broadway production. Pay is $2,034 per week under the Equity Production (League) Agreement. Apply here!

“PREMATURE”
A new feature film is shooting in New York City. The production is casting an all African-American cast. Various roles are currently open, both leading and supporting, for male and female talent, aged 18–30. Shooting takes place in September. Pay has yet to be determined, with performers signing a SAG-AFTRA Ultra Low Budget Agreement. Apply here!

“THE TEMPEST”
Troma, the “longest running independent film studio in America,” brings their gross-out on-a-dime style to Shakespeare. Legendary director Lloyd Kaufman is recreating “The Tempest” as a revenge thriller with a chemist’s daughter marrying his greatest betrayer. The production is currently casting men and women of any ethnicity over the age of 18 to play various roles in the production. Shooting will take place this summer in Queens, including Astoria and Long Island City, as well as various other locations. Pay has yet to be determined. Apply here!
