Come to the ‘Cabaret’ in Toronto + More Jobs Available for Canadian Talent

Whether you want to find your next job out of Toronto or Vancouver, today’s casting roundup will have a gig for you. Play a role in a Toronto-based production of “Cabaret,” lead a feature film shooting this fall, or play the lead in a sci-fi short.

“CABARET”
Leave your troubles outside and come to the cabaret. Wavestage Theatre is now casting its upcoming production of the Kander and Ebb musical “Cabaret.” Performers, aged 18 and older, are wanted for acting, singing, and dancing roles in the musical, which takes place in a seedy 1930s Berlin nightclub, the Kit Kat Klub, as the Nazis are beginning to rise to power. Auditions will be held in Toronto, Ontario, on Sept. 18 and 23. Rehearsals will begin in January 2019 in Toronto and performances will start in April. No pay will be provided. Apply here!

“QUEEN OF THE MORNING CALM”
Play the lead in an upcoming feature film. The film will follow Debra, who is told by a fortune teller that her destiny is to find her true love. She is obsessed with holding on to a man who is a lost puppy dog and gambler and has never found his feet in civilian life. The production is casting its Debra and seeking Asian, South Asian, Southeast Asian, Pacific Islander, ethnically ambiguous, or mixed race female talent, aged 25–34. She speaks with a Korean accent, so the ability to speak Korean is a plus. She is a recent Korean immigrant and someone who’s had to grow up fast after a tough childhood. “ANOMALY”
A science fiction short film is now seeking out-of-this-world Canadian actors. “Anomaly,” set in a near future where clones are used for a variety of consumer and corporate purposes, follows a clone who has memory from its original and the chief psychologist who begins an investigation to figure out whether something deeper is going on. A male actor, aged 45–55, is sought to play the lead role of Dr. Nieland. Additionally, two supporting actors—one male actor, aged 20–30, and one female actor, aged 35–45—are wanted for roles. “Anomaly” will shoot in mid-October in Quebec and Ontario, Canada.
