This week’s round-up of auditions in Atlanta is full of fun roles on stage and screen. Join The CW drama “Dynasty” in a background role. Or set your sights on the stage with roles for young talent in the Broadway our touring productions of “The Lion King” and adult roles in a local Equity production of “Singin’ in the Rain.” There’s also a starring role on a Chinese television series shooting in Malaysia and China that pays up to $200,000.
DYNASTY
The CW series “Dynasty” is casting background actors for an upcoming shoot in Suwanee, Georgia. The series follows two wealthy families feuding for control of their fortunes. The production is currently casting male and female talent, aged 18–60, to play shoppers with cars. Actors should have their own luxury car; acceptable brands include BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Cadillac, and Acura. Cars should be model year 2000 or newer, with good exteriors. “THE LION KING” YOUNG SIMBA AND NALA ROLES
Young talent is wanted to appear as the young Simba and Nala roles in the touring and Broadway productions of “The Lion King.” Young male and female talent, aged 9–12, that is 52”–57” tall is wanted for the roles. Young male actors who are natural singers and actors and can move well are wanted for the Simba role. Natural talent with personality, charm, charisma, and the ability to hold the stage on his own with “confidence and truth” is sought. Pretty female actors who are natural singers and actors and can move well are wanted to play Nala. The actor must be confident and can keep Simba in his place. She should have natural talent, personality, confidence, and strength, and must be a strong singer with a belt voice up to a D. “SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN”
An Atlantic Lyric Theatre production of “Singin’ in the Rain” is seeking Equity actor-singers for various name and ensemble roles, including Don Lockwood, for a male actor, aged 30–45, a suave, handsome Hollywood actor and very strong tapper and dancer, and Kathy Selden, for female talent, aged 25–30, an earnest, talented actress with wit and charm who falls in love with Don. Many more roles are available. Equity principal auditions will be held Oct. 22 in Marietta, Georgia. Rehearsals begin on March 18, 2019 and the show will run from April 12–28. “REPERCUSSION”
A Netflix-style miniseries shooting in China is conducting a worldwide search for a leading actress. “Repercussion” is set in a future where humans have returned to living in tribes. Casting is for the role of Mia, a half Caucasian, half Chinese woman to be played by a female actor, aged 18–29. Mia becomes a mercenary to extract revenge on infiltrators of her tribe. The role requires fluency in Mandarin Chinese and a striking, beautiful, leading lady face. Actors with gymnastics or martial arts skills will be given strong preference. Shooting takes place in Malaysia and Hainan Island, China over approximately 120 days starting in early November. Pay ranges from $100,000–$200,000, depending on experience and ability. Apply here!
