A famous celebrity photographer and Marilyn Monroe are just two of the many roles available now in Backstage’s casting notices!

Writer-director Sam Thorn of Star Productions is casting a docudrama based on a true story. Celebrity photographer Bert Stern was, as the notice says, “a brooding introspective artist with flashes of manic energy”; that role and several others—including Marilyn Monroe!—are available now for a New York City shoot in August.

Calling all NYC-based dancers! This gig needs contemporary and pointe dancers for a photo shoot, which will involve posing in public spaces. Warm up those limbs and get ready for photographer Sharmila Narwani’s shoot, to take place July 9–13 in the Big Apple.

This musical melodrama from Tapedeck Productions follows a man, newly arrived in New York, in pursuit of his former love. “As he tries to live out his romantic fantasy, he must confront the lurid impossibility of his desires,” reads the casting notice. Three roles need talented actors, so check it out now!

Based in Sarasota, Florida, Urbanite Theatre is looking for both union and nonunion actors to fill six roles in their upcoming season, which comprises of several exciting productions: Jennifer Haley’s “Breadcrumbs,” Eric Coble’s “My Barking Dog,” Aaron Loeb’s “Ideation,” and Elizabeth Heffron’s “Bo-Nita.” Out-of-town actors are welcome to apply; click on the casting notice for details on video submissions.
