Kids Now Casting: Play Thing 1, Thing 2, and More in ‘The Cat in the Hat’

Have lots of good fun that is funny with a major role in Dr. Seuss’s “The Cat in the Hat.”

Palo Alto Children’s Theatre is preparing for its 2019 mainstage production and is casting lead actors.

An actor, aged 18 or older, is wanted to play the lead role of The Cat. Strong circus arts skills and juggling are required for the role. Extensive acrobatic skills are not required but are a plus.

There are also roles for talent, aged 18 and older, as the Boy, the protagonist and narrator, and Sally.

Child actors, aged 11 and older, are also wanted for the roles of Thing 1 and Thing 2, the Cat’s madcap assistants. Strong movement skills are required, and acrobatic skills are a plus.

The production will begin rehearsals in January 2019, and the show will run from Jan. 22–Feb. 16 in the Lucie Stern Community Center in Palo Alto, California. All talent will be paid a $1,900 stipend.
