In today’s casting roundup, the New York Times meets Harvard University with the short film collaboration “Us Again,” which is now casting one of its two lead roles. Plus, a short about a group of female avengers is looking for a lead, another about an android-human relationship is casting the office jerk, and a feature film about a get-rich-quick scheme is filming in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Harvard University filmmaking collective and Lance Oppenheim collaboration “Us Again,” a short film about a couple driven to re-enact a vaguely-remembered scene and situation from their past, is casting one of its two lead roles. A male actor, aged 27–35, is sought to play Otto. The film will rehearse March 24–25 and shoot March 30–April 1 in New York City. Pay is $50 per shoot day. Apply here!

Join “Execution,” a short, experimental film about a group of renegade women who execute men who’ve committed heinous crimes against women. A Black cis or trans female actor, aged 25–45, is sought to play the lead role of Gravity, one of the women on the avenging team. There are also roles for supporting men, aged 20–70, to play captured rapists and murderers. The role of Gravity will rehearse every Sunday afternoon and shoots May 25–28 in the NYC area. Male actors will rehearse one date, currently TBD, and shoot one day during May 24–28. Actors will be paid $125 per shoot day. Apply here!

Casting continues for “Sparks,” a short film about a happy, code-typing worker android who falls in love with a human girl “co-worker” and suffers from an exploding heart every time he sees her. A male actor, aged 20–40, is wanted to play the supporting role of Neil, an arrogant office worker with anger issues. “Sparks” will shoot April 14–15 and 21–22 in Los Angeles. Pay is $50–$150 per day. Apply here!

Casting is currently underway for McDojo, a feature film about “perennial losers who open a McDojo, a martial arts gym that teaches fighting techniques which have no practical value in a real fight, to get rich quick in Nashville, Tennessee.” Male and female talent, aged 18–39, are wanted for supporting roles as McDojo students in the film. There are also lead roles as students in a related web series. There will be an audition by appointment on April 21 in Nashville, Tennessee. Production for both will take place in late July, and actors will be paid, rates TBD, during filming. Apply here!
