Now Casting: Play a Diner Patron in Season 2 of Netflix’s ‘Ozark’ + 3 More Gigs

Don’t end your work week without chasing after one of the great gigs in today’s roundup. The Netflix series “Ozark,” starring Jason Bateman, is looking for actors in Georgia to portray diner patrons. Plus, Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story” is holding open casting calls in Orlando and New York City, a feature needs Tagalog-speaking leads, and a dramatic thriller needs a cello-playing actor and a body double.

“OZARK”
The Netflix series “Ozark,” starring Jason Bateman, is now casting actors for background roles. Talent, aged 18–70, is sought to portray diner patrons. Wardrobe sizes do not exceed a size 14 dress for women and a 48 jacket for men. Women must have chin-length or longer hair in a natural color. Production will take place on April 16 in Morrow, Georgia. Pay is $72 for eight hours of work. Apply here!

“WEST SIDE STORY,” OPEN CALL
The upcoming Steven Spielberg adaptation of “West Side Story” is holding open casting calls in New York City and Orlando, Florida. Talent, aged 15–25, is sought to play the lead roles of Maria, Tony, Bernardo, Anita, and Riff. Actors must be able to sing and must have a strong dance background. The open calls will be April 29 in NYC and May 5 in Orlando, Florida. Production dates are TBD. Professional pay will be provided. Apply here!

“THE YEAR I DID NOTHING”
Casting is underway for lead talent in “The Year I Did Nothing,” a coming-of-age feature that follows three Filipino kids during their last year in Manila before immigrating to the U.S. Talent, aged 5–70, is wanted for multiple lead roles in the production, including the principal child characters Christina, George, and Elena. All actors must be able to speak fluent Tagalog. The film will shoot this July and August in the Los Angeles area. Some pay will be provided. Apply here!

“SUMMER”
Join the cast of “Summer,” a feature thriller, as a body double or in a supporting role. A female actor, aged 18 or older, is wanted to play Karen, the lead character’s rival. The actor who gets the role must be an experienced cellist. There is also a role available for an Asian female body double, aged 25–35, who must also be proficient at the cello. The film will shoot April 30–May 31 in NYC. Pay is $200–$250 per day over three to six days, depending on the role. The body double role will also pay extra if she is willing to coach the lead actor on the cello. Apply here!
