Now Casting: NBC’s ‘Chicago Fire’ Seeks Birthday Party Extras, Hipsters + More

Light a fire under you this Monday with one or more of the great opportunities in today’s roundup. Background casting continues for the NBC hit primetime drama “Chicago Fire,” which follows the professional and private lives of Chicago’s local firefighters. The program is seeking actors to play children at a birthday party, hipsters, and more. Plus, a short, female-led gangster film seeks its “Godmother” and more, a charity-sponsored short film bringing awareness to human trafficking has a variety of roles available, and a student film about restless youth and racial tension seeks a Korean-speaking lead.

“CHICAGO FIRE” 
Background casting continues for NBC’s “Chicago Fire.” Young talent, aged 10–12, and adult talent, aged 18 and older, are wanted for a wide variety of background roles, including children at a birthday party, athletic extras, hipsters, and more. The production will shoot this month in Chicago, Ilinois. Many roles have specific fitting and shoot dates. Pay starts at $88 for eight hours of work. Apply here!

“WISE GALS”
Casting is underway for "Wise Gals," a short gangster film that gives all major mobster roles to women. Female talent, aged 18–90, are sought to play three lead roles in the production, including Sophia, the rookie of the gang, and Donna Maria, the “Godmother.” There will be a brief rehearsal period, followed by a four-day shoot in Boston, Massachusetts. Pay is $125 per day, with meals and travel for out-of-state talent provided. Apply here!

A21, “CAN YOU SEE ME: TAXI” 
The A21-sponsored “Can You See Me: Taxi,” a short film in a series of three to raise awareness about human trafficking and modern slavery, is casting a young female actor, aged 16–18, to play a runaway teenager who gets picked up by the wrong crowd and ends up in sex work. There are additional roles for talent, aged 18–60, to appear as day players and background actors. The production will shoot over one to three days, depending on the role, Dec. 12–14 in San Diego, California. Pay is $125 per day for acting roles and $75 a day for background. Apply here!

“SECRET LIVES OF ASIANS AT NIGHT” 
Join “Secret Lives of Asians at Night,” an NYU Tisch MFA screwball noir short film about restless youth and racial tension within the dangerous shadows of New York City’s Chinatown and Koreatown. A Korean male actor, aged 18–26, is wanted to play the lead role of Joo, a charismatic and unpredictable character. Talent must be fluent in Korean. Singing and dancing ability is a plus. There are also multiple roles for actors of various ethnicities, aged 18–35. The film will shoot Jan. 12–17 in NYC. Pay will be provided for lead roles.
