Now Casting: Showtime Pilot ‘Queen Fur’ Seeks its Funny and Flinty Lead + 3 More Gigs

Chase after one last gig for April, like a great opportunity in today’s roundup! “Queen Fur,” a TV pilot for Showtime and Sony TV, is currently casting its Macy, the flinty but funny lead. Plus, a feature-length reimagining of a film from 1902 is casting minor roles, a short branded film for Brooklyn’s A/D/O is casting featured background roles, and a holiday film with a twist is casting lead actors and also seeking a director of photography.

“QUEEN FUR”
Casting is currently underway for the lead role in “Queen Fur,” a TV pilot for Showtime and Sony TV. A plus-size female actor, aged 20–25, is sought to play Macy, a flinty and funny character who is constantly in trouble with the law. The pilot will tentatively shoot this fall, location TBD. “TRIP TO THE MOON”
A feature-length re-imagining of George Melies’ 1902 film “Trip to the Moon,” is now casting three small roles. A female actor, aged 30–65, and two young male actors, aged 8–13, are wanted to play a mother and her two sons who witness a rocket ship crashing to Earth. The roles will have one or two lines each. Production will take place on May 20 at a green-screen studio in Long Island, New York. Pay is $50 for the day, with a travel reimbursement and film and IMDb credit provided. Apply here!

A/D/O NYC HERO FILM
A short branded film series for A/D/O is casting a diverse ensemble of New Yorkers to promote a new art installation at Brooklyn’s A/D/O. Talent, aged 18–75, is sought to play several featured background roles and additional background roles, such as teenagers, BMX guys, and more. Some roles require physical ability or require actors to provide their own wardrobe. The short will shoot May 9–11 in New York City. Each role will shoot over one day. Pay is $400 per day. “THE FAMILY TREE”
“The Family Tree,” an indie holiday film with a twist, is now casting lead roles, as well as seeking a director of photography. Male talent, aged 21–60, is wanted to play the roles of Victor Gardel, his son Drexel, and more. There is also a director of photography position open for applicants, aged 25 and older. Applicants must own their own equipment. Those who own drones are a plus. “The Family Tree” will rehearse during the summer and shoots this fall in Panama and Europe. Travel, meals, accommodation, and pay will be provided. Apply here!
