Hello and welcome to one of our shoutouts for projects casting around the U.K. As always there’s a mix of opportunities for all ages, abilities, and locations but do remember to check if you fit the bill before applying. Although we make every attempt to verify castings before we hit publish, please ensure that you do your own research before firing off those headshots and Backstage links.

“Austen the Musical”
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a female actor in possession of great talent should apply for this role. “Austen the Musical” starts when the author is an unpublished 20-year-old living in Hampshire. Erudite and witty, she struggles to find readership in the male-dominated world of Georgian England.

Having played at the Edinburgh Festival, New York Festival and (of course) the Jane Austen Festival itself, the production is now going on a national tour throughout 2017/18. You can check the dates out on the show website.

Rehearsals will be held in York from 25 September with Press Night on 7 October ahead of touring until April 2018. Auditions will be held in York on 10 September. To apply, send your CV, headshots, vocal range, and Backstage link to the producers Daniel and Justin at ASAP.
