L.A. Dance Company Gets $20 Million Gift

LOS ANGELES – Philanthropist Glorya Kaufman is giving $20 million to the Los Angeles County Music Center's dance programs, saying it's vital to ensure that public arts programs continue to flourish during tough economic times.

Music Center officials say Tuesday's gift will allow them to continue to present internationally renowned dance companies as well as enhance public outreach programs.

It comes at a time when arts institutions across the nation are being forced to cut back.

Kaufman is the widow of KB Homes co-founder Donald Bruce Kaufman.
