Jason Buyer, Casting Director, Acting Coach

Jason Buyer began casting extras and commercials in his hometown of Chicago. Since arriving in Los Angeles, he has worked on over 10 pilots and dozens of episodic television shows.

He was the senior casting coordinator at Warner Bros. Television ("Eastwick," "Zero Effect," "Thieves," "Harry Stone," "Bull"); casting associate at Ulrich/Dawson/Kritzer Casting ("Rude Awakening," "Any Day Now," "The Gregory Hines Show"); and casting associate at Weber & Associates Casting at MGM ("She Spies," "Fame Encore," "Stargate-SG1," "Soldier of Fortune," "The Outer Limits," "The Crow," "12 Angry Men," "The Gingerbread Man").

Jason is the CEO of MTA Management Group, a talent management division created for his coaching clients, and continues to be an invited keynote speaker at numerous universities, conducting marketing seminars for their graduating seniors and theater students. Seven years ago, Jason created Marketing the Actor, an acting coaching and consulting business that specializes in helping actors sell their product. He has offices in Los Angeles and Burbank, Calif., offering private one-on-one mock audition classes as well as group classes for all levels.

Jason recently completed casting 11 short films for the 2008 Columbia College Semester in L.A. Directing Program, as well as the pilot presentation "Odds on the Acts" from creator Chris Bearde of "Gong Show" fame. Last year, Jason was featured as the resident acting coach on Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Orange County."
