The Orlanda-UCF Shakespeare Festival (Orlando, FL), Jim Helsinger, artistic dir., is holding auditions for its twelfth season: "Romeo and Juliet" directed by Dennis Delaney and "As You Like It" directed by Eric Hissom. Russell Treyz, casting dir. Both plays begin rehearsals Tues. Feb. 20, and close Sun. May 6 on a LOA-LORT D contract: eight Equity ($500) and six non-Equity. All actors will be cast in both plays and may double within the same play. Actively seeking a multi-racial cast, particularly African-American and European-American. Members of all races are encouraged to audition. Also seeking actors who sing and/or play an instrument. All encouraged to prepare a bit of a folk-rock song. Auditions will be held Tues. Nov. 14 from 10AM-5:30PM at Eighth Ave. Studios, 939 Eighth Ave. (btwn. 55 & 56 sts.), NYC. Prepare a monologue (two minutes for one monologue or one minute each for two monologues;two minutes maximum in total) from a character you wish to play or an appropriate similar character from another Shakespearean play.
