Princess Diana is getting a musical.

2017 was a huge year for TV and film crossover.
We are saluting the most valuable players of the year—appearing on both the big and small screens—who weren’t content to star in just one buzzy project. Instead, they dominated the cultural consciousness, deservedly taking their careers to the next level. (Backstage)

NBC may be bringing back “The Office.”
On the heels of the successful revival of “Will & Grace,” NBC Chairman Bob Greenblatt is thinking about other successful shows the peacock can revive, among them, “The Office” and “30 Rock.” (Deadline)

Issa Rae is working on two new shows for HBO.
As if we weren’t lucky enough to have “Insecure” in our lives, Rae has two more shows in development: “Him or Her” and “Sweet Life.” (Deadline)

Christian Bale can continue talking about women in this industry. Matt Damon, not so much.
On the topic of better representation, Bale said, “Our culture will be so much richer the day that we stop saying, ‘Hey, it’s all white dudes who are running things.’ Whether that be Hollywood, whether that be Washington, you know. We’re going to get, in Hollywood, so much better films and so much more interesting stories being told and America will become the America that the rest of the world sees it as, that makes it unique.” Damon, on the other hand, thinks we’re not focused enough on the men who aren’t sexual predators. Oh, and he’s down to “sign a sexual harassment thing.”
