Tony Awards Launches Site on Eligible Productions

In advance of the 2013 Tony Awards scheduled for this June, and IBM have partnered up to launch “Spotlight On,” which will feature content about and from all this season’s eligible productions. New content will be added throughout the season and will include plot summaries, trivia, cast albums, scripts, production histories, and downloadable music. Users will be able to explore over 20 shows, from “Ann” to “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike.”

“As the Broadway season unfolds, the list of eligible productions for the Tony Awards continues to grow,” said Broadway League’s Executive Director Charlotte St. Martin in a statement. “This new platform will help theatre-goers keep track of all of the plays and musicals that are contenders for this year’s Tony nominations.”

The Tony Awards are produced by the American Theatre Wing and will air live on CBS June 9 from Radio City Music Hall. The final nominations will be announced April 30.
