Voice Actor Joe Cipriano Wins LaFontaine Legacy Award

PromaxBDA and Brief Magazine announced Thursday that voice actor Joe Cipriano will receive the second annual Don LaFontaine Legacy Award.

Cipriano will accept the award at the 2010 PromaxBDA Promotions and Marketing Awards on June 24th.

According to a press release, the award recognizes voice actors who display "character, longevity, talent, professionalism, and the passion for giving back."

Cipriano's voice work has appeared on the NBC, ABC, Fox, and CBS television and radio networks, and he has performed live announcer duties at the Grammy Awards and the Primetime Emmy Awards. He also co-founded the Don LaFontaine Voice-Over Lab at the SAG Foundation Actors Center, which aims to develop young voiceover talent.

The award commemorates prolific voice actor Don LaFontaine, who voiced more than 5,000 promos and trailers over three decades.
