Comments:
A workshop for writers & performers making compelling art, based on personal material. A group process designed to help figure out what story to tell, and how to tell it. A process applicable for scripting solo plays, films, songs — even work for the page. Anything based — or loosely based — on things that happened, or may have happened.
Writer-performer Stacie Chaiken is the creator of award-winning solo plays, "The Dig, Death, Genesis + the double helix," "Looking for Louie," and "What She Left." Formerly on the performance faculty of the USC School of Dramatic Arts, she is a Fulbright Senior Specialist in story and performance. She teaches master classes in solo performance and writing, based on autobiographical material, and has taught privately through What's the Story? since 2001.
