Founded in 1976, CINANIMA is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2026. Oscar Qualifying Film Festival, eligible with the support of ASIFA - Association International du Film d'Animation. Every year CINANIMA gathers animators and directors all over the world who, during the 10-day festivals' period, enjoy the best animated films made all around the world, in a friendly and familiar environment. The festival focuses on the art of animation and it's promotion and dissemination, as well as promoting film literacy.

Categories include short films, students films, feature films, national competition, and many special programmes, retrospectives, curatorships, and screenings for families, children and schools.
