Empire Theatre Company (ETC) produces 5-7 plays each season. Providing a modest stipend for all cast and crew members. The season is eclectic, bringing new work or rarely seen work to the stage. There are two stages at the historic Empire Theater: The mainstage auditorium seats 425 people; Studio E seats 65 in a black box setting. ETC is in a college town, home to the University of North Dakota and regularly hire tech and cast actors in training at the University, those recently graduated, and faculty. Last season ('21-'22) ECT opened with "Company" and closed with "The Incubator Series," a production of new work by seven women playwrights from across the U.S.

Pre-professional, in-house, producing company, which provides a stipend to all cast and crew members. Produce 4-5 shows each season -- typically two musicals, one geared toward an intergenerational cast, and one a bit more edgy or contemporary. The other two shows bring work rarely seen in the area -- either a contemporary piece or a classic which is not done frequently. Occasionally, producing a ten-minute play festival (rarely produce new full-length plays). In production from September through June.
