Submission Policy:

Firehouse seeks collaborative, hardworking, kind, inspired, and inspiring actors who are ready to support one another and invest in the overall success of the project and the organization. Firehouse supports playwrights and directors in their visions for both culturally-appropriate and non-traditional casting. Auditions are traditionally held at Firehouse Theatre, 1609 W. Broad St., Richmond, VA 23220.

Firehouse accepts submissions directly from playwrights and /or from agents. Submit a completed draft of your play, your resume or CV, and a brief cover letter including: A bit about you and your artistic history; why you are interested in working with The Firehouse; what you are seeking (production or development); a brief synopsis of your play and when/where the play has been previously developed/produced; and a character/casting breakdown of the play. Send submissions to playsubmissions@firehousetheatre.org. The submission may be reviewed by Firehouse Artistic Staff, or a member of their New Play Selection committee. Firehouse is committed to reading and responding to every project submitted to them. Given the volume of projects submitted, they cannot provide a timeframe for response.
