The Business of the Business

Career Highlights/Additional Info:

  • Hire an excellent person to work with, and experience in the entertainment business. Internship for Mike Lemon Casting and Talent Booker to Kathy Donahue's Models and actors.
  • Bio
Born in N.J. My extra-curricular activities consisted of: Girl Scouts, Gymnastics, Track & Field, Soccer and playing in the orchestra since the age of 9. I opted to take college prep courses until my senior year at Willingboro High School.

I began taking modeling classes after graduating high school and worked for Kathy Donahue’s Models and actors. Without the financial backing and support of my parents, modeling became expensive, so I decided to obtain a career in accounting, and enrolled into the Cittone Institute of Technology. I received the Dean’s List and perfect attendance awards throughout the course of my school year. I worked at a variety of office jobs, until I finally got my first accounting job in the summer of 1998. My most recent employment was a bookkeeper for the YMCA of Camden County. I felt the need to go back to school and registered at the Burlington County Community College.

The entertainment business and that desire to want to help mankind always captivated me, so I never lost that passion or dream to want to somehow entertain people. After working as an Accountant for several years, I still felt the need to emit this calling in life. I called my old agent and they explained to me that they currently work with children and teens, and sent me to an open call for Mike Lemon Casting. I booked an extra role in “In Her Shoes” (summer 2003), and have been working diligently as an actor since then.

I enrolled in the Commercial Acting Class taught at Mike Lemon Casting in October 2005, where I learned auditioning techniques for a variety of commercials, and how to read a teleprompter. In conjunction with that class I interned as a stage manager for Burlington County College and attended a Theater 101 course. I advanced to Intro to Film acting, and inquired about an internship for MLC. I interned for MLC from Oct 05-Feb 06. I assisted with the casting sessions and answered-incoming phone/e-mail inquiries that a potential actor/model asked. I also assisted with the casting sessions, and actors or agent callbacks, when they are booked or to check availability for a particular shoot date. I volunteered to help with the open calls and also created files for the new actors. Occasionally, I auditioned for commercials. I continued to advance to the Film acting class and my internship hours allowed me to take several classes for MLC.

I began to work for Kathy Donahue’s Models and Actors in March 2006. I trained for a talent booking agent position. I also work as a promotional sub-contractor for this agency. In 2009, I completed the (10week) Acting Technique/Scene Study Class, taught by Megan Heimbecker at the Walnut Street Theater. I also took the Spokes model and Hosting Day class with Janet Zappala.

I still had that passion for the business and decided that I want to help other people and educate them with the business so I established Follow UR Dreams Casting in 2003.
