Founded in 1947, The University Film & Video Association is an international organization where media production and writing meets the history, theory, and criticism of the media. UFVA members include image-makers and artists, teachers and students, archivists and distributors, college departments, libraries, and manufacturers in the fields of film and video, facilitating the sharing of ideas about developments in film/video education, scholarship, technology, and artistic pursuits.
UFVA also produces the annual University Film and Video Conference (a gathering of filmmakers, scholars, and teachers) and publishes the Journal of Film and Video.
